I recently heard the advice “follow your blisters, not your bliss” and I really resonated with it. I’ve been good at some things and wanted to do them, but never stuck with it. However, there’s some things I come back to over and over again, even though it’s hard and has required so much growth, because it’s so important and meaningful to me.

I love that. Those things that niggle at you and won't leave you alone are the ones you need to pay attention to!

I ask for signs from the Universe or my guides regularly, and never receive anything that feels like a sign (at least not since a few decades ago).

As for following my calling or passion, it would require resources which I do not have. I do some of the things which bring me joy, but it is less than a third of my day to day existence.

I am stuck, trying to get unstuck, but not feeling very hopeful.

At any rate, enjoyed your post immensely, as I think abt such things often!

That's such a great point about resources - some of us can't just transform our lives that easily. Can you look at small ways to increase the amount of things that bring you joy, though? Bring more of that slowly into your day-to-day life? And is there a way around the missing resources? For example, I've spent about 15 years thinking I wanted to work in some kind of therapeutic role, and I kept looking at counselling degrees but they were too long and too expensive and I just couldn't go down that route. I also had something niggling at me that counselling wasn't quite the right path - I've had counselling myself and it didn't work for me, and I have a few issues with the approach. Then a few years ago I discovered coaching and found that approach much more positive. I found an affordable coaching certification, so I did that, but I still didn't feel it was quite the right route. I kept feeling that creativity was more my calling, but then I discovered art therapy and writing therapy. I found affordable courses in those, and then I discovered a free government funded counselling course! So I'm now doing that just to add a more traditional foundation and level of understanding to what I do. It's taken me a while, but I now feel like I've gathered all the knowledge I need to be able to take the path that I wanted to take years ago!
