Workshop: Hearing your inner voice
Blocking out the "shoulds" to hear the "could"
Hi my fellow Gatherers,
Welcome to another of our monthly workshops. These are intended to offer you some inspiration and exercises to help you connect to your deepest self so that you can share your authentic voice with the world. This month, we’re looking at how you can block out the noise of society - all the expectations and indoctrinations of what your life should look like - so that you can connect to what you really want your life to look like. There are no “I should”s here, only “I could”s.
Let’s dive in.
This month’s exercises
In this month’s workshop we have:
A guided meditation to visualise your possible future
Journalling prompts to connect to your unconscious needs and desires
A creative exercise to help you understand who you are
A creative exercise to help you understand who you want to be
A practice to bring awareness to where you give away your power
An ongoing practice that will help you build a dialogue with your inner self
You don’t have to do all these exercises in one go. You could do one a day for a week, one or two a week for a month, or you could just dip in and out of them whenever you feel a need to tune into what your soul has to say to you. Use this resource however works best for you.
1. Guided meditation: future you
When we ask our rational minds about the future, the part of our brain that wants to keep us safe will jump in with justifications about why we really just want what everyone else has got, why we want to do things the way everyone else is doing them, why we want what we’ve been told to want. If we’re seeking to understand what the deepest part of ourself - our soul, our heart, our inner knowing - truly wants, we need to ask our conscious mind to take a seat, quietly, out of the way.
This guided meditation will help you do that.
