It’s the final full week of November. My children are bouncing off the walls, because they know that next week December starts. That means the Yuletide festivities can begin. On 1st December, we’ll decorate the house. The tree will go up. I’ll finally allow them to play Christmas songs. Throughout the month, we have various outings and events planned that they’re looking forward to, like a light walk, ice skating, seeing a Pantomime… and we’re off to visit some old dude in a red hat. There’s a lot to get excited about.
But for now, there’s a pause. A tingle of anticipation, but quiet, subtle. Like the fizzle in the air, an almost imperceptible crackle, before a thunderstorm. Everything hangs, suspended, waiting.
